Notary public duties

A mobile notary public is a state-commissioned public officer authorized to perform the following notarial acts:

General notary services

Acknowledgments
Verifying that a signer personally appeared, was identified, and willingly signed a document such as a deed, contract, or power of attorney.
Jurats
Administering an oath or affirmation to a signer who then swears the contents of a document — commonly affidavits and sworn statements — are true.
Oaths & Affirmations
Formally compelling a person to tell the truth, whether by swearing on their conscience (oath) or by solemn promise (affirmation).
Signature Witnessing
Watching a signer sign a document in person and confirming their identity, without a separate oath or acknowledgment.
Permission-to-Travel Letters
Notarizing consent letters allowing a minor to travel domestically or internationally with one parent, a relative, or another adult.
Affidavits & Sworn Statements
Administering the oath and notarizing signed statements used in court filings, immigration matters, and financial declarations.
Bills of Sale & Vehicle Titles
Notarizing signatures on private-party bills of sale, vehicle titles, and DMV forms that require acknowledgment.
Copy Certifications
Certifying that a photocopy of an original, non-recordable document (like a diploma or passport) is a true and accurate reproduction.

Specialized Notary Services

Power of Attorney
Notarizing durable, medical, financial, or limited POA forms so the principal can legally appoint an agent to act on their behalf.
Wills, Trusts & Estate Documents
Notarizing self-proving affidavits on wills, trust certifications, and related estate planning paperwork (notaries do not draft these documents).
Advance Healthcare Directives
Notarizing living wills, healthcare POAs, and mental healthcare directives at homes, hospitals, or hospice facilities.
Structured Settlements & Annuities
Witnessing and notarizing settlement, annuity, and beneficiary paperwork for insurance and financial institutions.
Loan Document Signings
Guiding a borrower through mortgage, refinance, HELOC, or reverse mortgage packages, notarizing required pages, and returning them to the lender or title company.
Jail, Hospital & Hospice Visits
Traveling to correctional facilities, hospitals, and hospice locations to notarize documents for signers who cannot come to an office.

Witness requirement: I can notarize your signature, but I cannot serve as a witness on your documents. If your paperwork requires witnesses, please bring them with you to the appointment and make sure they each have a valid, government-issued photo ID.

Arizona notaries public do not provide legal advice, draft legal documents, or act as attorneys.

FAQ

Mobile notary questions, answered.

Do you come to me?
Yes. Pierced Mobile Notary is a mobile service — we travel to homes, offices, hospitals, hospice facilities, care homes, jails, and public meeting spots across Tucson and Southern Arizona.
How much does a mobile notary cost in Arizona?
Arizona caps a standard notarial act at $10 per signature. Mobile service adds a travel fee based on distance and time of day, quoted up front before the appointment.
What ID do I need?
A current government-issued photo ID with a signature — driver's license, state ID, U.S. passport, military ID, or tribal ID. Expired within the last five years is acceptable in Arizona.
Can you come today or after hours?
Same-day, evening, and weekend appointments are available. Call or text (520) 752-9045 and we'll confirm the soonest opening.
Do you handle loan signings?
Yes. We're an NNA-certified, background-screened, bonded, and E&O insured signing agent for refinances, purchases, HELOCs, reverse mortgages, and seller packages.
Can the notary also be my witness?
No. In Arizona, notarizing a signature and witnessing it are separate roles. I can notarize your document, but I cannot also serve as the witness. You must provide your own qualified witnesses when they are required.
